Tiny Cad

Suggestions for enhancements to TinyCAD

Here are a few ideas that would make TinyCAD useful for arbitrary network analysis:

  • add an option for the user to add a short list of menu items or toolbar buttons where each button could be assigned a simple action. The action would simply be to save the Spice file and then launch a program with the full path of the file on the command line. Then the user could write a wrapper around Spice to pre-process the Spice deck to add code for some specific analysis and reporting and then submit it to Spice.
  • Alternatively add the ability to add a prologue and epilogue to the Spice deck. Of course if the prologue and epilogue could be chosen by menu items then the user would be able to define various control sections to do specific analyses. Then TinyCad would save the deck and launch the user supplied Spice wrapper. If you have the right version of Spice then Spice itself could be used without any wrapper or perhaps with a trivial script as the wrapper.
  • add some way of feeding the node voltages
