Other Peoples Code

Other People's Code

I take Larry Wall's ideas on what makes a good programmer very seriously so I steal as much code as I can. Sometimes I make direct use of it, sometimes I look at it and decide I can't do anything useful with it and somtimes I like the idea but need a slightly different implementation. It occurred to me recently that I should not just discard those bits and pieces that didn't get used but should instead gather together all those that I work on or examine closely so that others might get a chance to see them and use them and also to advertise the originators a little. Unfortunately not everyone puts a name or address inside the code so some of the code here is now anonymous. My intention is to only include code here that is free in the Debian sense which, if I am not mistaken, means in essence that it is either public domain or released under the Gnu Public License (GPL). If anyone feels that I have included code that should not be included please let me know whether it is because it is yours and you want it back or because you can tell me that it isn't free. To find the code browse the sitemap. The program that produced the sitemap isn't very good but it does show the layout and it is under development so it might be better next time you look.
